CHALET NUMBER TWO

It is finally happening- a relief for us and we are sure for you too- now we should be able to book alot more people in!!!!

THIS CHALET WILL BE EVEN BIGGER AND BETTER THAN CHALET NUMBER ONE!!

This Chalet will be wider, longer and have a larger decked area that will extend to the side. This will house a glass outdoor "room" that will contain a 4 person Hot Tub and a 2 person Sauna. The Chalet will have two main bedrooms, both with sliding doors out onto the deck. The decor will be as gorgeous as Chalet number one, and the Outdoor room with a view will feature an Asian style influence. I can't wait to decorate it already! We envisage this Chalet will be perfect for two couples and families, of course, it will be great for one couple too!

19/2/07: The finance is approved, the design changed and changed again, and the contracts are signed, now we await the beginning of construction. Again, we have gone through the National Australia Bank in Albany (thanks Scott and Melissa) and the construction will be undertaken yet again by T&R Homes in Maddington- with the help of the fabulous Rhona. She has suggested lots of bits and pieces, especially after seeing the final result of Chalet Number One.

THE FLOOR PLAN OF CHALET NUMBER TWO

The Hot Tub and Sauna have arrived. And, what fantastic service we received from Pam at Jadan Spas, Cannington. She was amazing! In all the wheelings and dealings, we now have a Hot Tub with Disco lights and a Sauna with a built in CD player. Alright!! They have been delivered to our property and await their new home! We won't mention the fun we had getting them off the truck!!

Stan and I are off to Perth on the 4th of May to pick all the colours for the Chalet- we will fill you in on details when we get back

Apologies on the time it has taken me to update this page- finally some news! We had decided a long time ago to change to location of the second chalet. You feedback (THANK YOU) led us to moving the second chalet further away, as your number one favourite thing about staying here is the privacy. The second chalet will now be situated at the rear of our property, completely private and well away from chalet number one. Consequently, that meant talking to Albany Council, and although I had been told it was OK, when it came ot the crunch, we had to reapply for the location change. Small holdup there, as our Building Licence couldn't be issued until the approval was through! With our (re!)approval now in place we are now able to go ahead, and as of the 7th of July, buliding time is estimated at 32 weeks. We hope it will be here by Feb and open by March.

Our Pre-start at T&R Homes went fabulous, and we sincerely thank Sam for her vision, experience and genuine enthusiam! We have got some super dooper additions in this Chalet, including a removable shower head, glass blocks, mirrored wardrobe doors, full size ktichen, suitcase stands and gorgeous lighting in the bathroom and much more- in fact too to mention here!! (you will have to wait for the photos to see it all!)We can't wait to see it all done! The decor and colours are going to be very similar to the current Chalet, and we have gone for upright feature tiles in the bathroom which looked fabulous in the display centre we visited.

13th July 2007: We will be starting on putting the new road in place very soon, but we will be working around our bookings- so it will take us a few months to get it finished so we don't disturb our guests!

And are we ready??- NOOOOOO!!!

4th Sep 07: Oh, yes! Instead of January(ish) we have just been informed that the Chalet will be leaving the Perth Depot on the 4th of October!! T&R Homes managed to find a spot in their yard to fit our Chalet in, and therefore it will be ready early. OH DEAR! We are really under the pump now, having to get all the site works and roads done in under a month, around our Bookings and available contractors! We hope you will come along for the ride! It should be a fun time and lots of pics along the way!

Here is a pic of the view from Chalet 2- many hours of creative tree trimming have resulted in this super dooper view- what do you think??

And, also a pic of the current pad site- at least you will be able to see where it all started!

And, as of the 29/10/07- it's ended up so high that you feel like you are on top of the world!

Here are some photos that were emailled to us by Sam at T&R Homes- thanks Sam! Our Chalet's skeleton!

Stan and I are off to Perth, yet again, this weekend (7 and 8th of September 07) to have a look at developments.

11/9/07: Here are some more photos from Sam at T&R Homes- the roof frames are on!

22 September 2007: Well, the latest is that the Chalet will now be here on the 25th of October. T&R Homes were able to swap our Chalet with a house going up north. A real relief for us, as we are really under the pump and the weather has not been kind to us! Normally we LOVE rain, but not when we are trying to get our site works finished. Ian from Big Bobcat has been working hard for us, and the road to the Chalet is now complete, as well as the driveway turnaround. All that remains is for the pad to be done! Shelley and her Mum have been shopping up a storm, and we have found some really special things that we can't wait to see in the Chalet!

As of the 10th of October- it's coming along, as are the site works now that the rain has eased up! Not long now until it arrives!

29th October 2007: HERE IT IS! Finally arrived to it's new home. All in position. Now the fun really begins as we wait for the installation inside to be completed and the verandah and deck to be added on. Then, we will be working like trojans to get everything ready for our first booking. We are also looking forward to the plumbing, septics, electricity, trenching, satellite and air conditioning all being done. Let the games begin!!!!!

26th November- The deck and verandah are finally finished. Luke and Ray from T&R Homes have done a smashing job on the construction, and the Hot Tub is in position. Now, we have to build the carport and enclose the outdoor room. We are still waiting for the power to go on, but at least we finally have some trenches dug thanks to a giant excavator. What a mission the trenching turned out to be, with most of our property sitting on a nice big fat sheet of granite! Shelley oiled the new deck yesterday, so we can start moving the outdoor furntiure onto it today, and have fun putting together the Sauna, which is flat packed!! We still need the plumbing to be completed, all of the rainwater conections and pipe to be installed and painted and the satellite to be hooked up for the TVs. Once we have power, we will be able to get all of the pictures, shelves, and extras lights on the walls and ceilings. It is amazing how many things need to be hung up or installed! Most of the indoor furniture has been moved in and we are absolutely WRAPPED with how this is turning out!! I will take some photos today of the progress when the sun comes out!

17 December 2007: Oh- the mess!! (but we are getting there!!!!!)

We are definitely seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The outdoor room is enclosed, and the carport is nearly completed. The plumbing will begin tomorrow, power is on and the Satellites installed for your viewing pleasure!! Now we have the right Sauna, (after receiving a one person Sauna by mistake!!!) we have put it together and had go in it yesterday when it was FREEZING down here. Very nice indeed, especially with the built in CD player! The storm water connections are half done, and we still have to put the "Skirting" on the underside of the deck to make it look pretty and install the fire and clothesline. Then we still have to decorate the outdoor room and deck and put all of the bits and pieces on the walls, inside and out! The glass doors for the Hot Tub room are all ordered and we hope will arrive in two days time.(If not we are in trouble!). You have to use your imagaination a bit at the moment, but we assure you the end result is going to be spectacular- if we may say so ourselves!!!!

Oh, and did I mention we then will clean everything up, plant some more plants at the front and take some more pics for you to see. They will be the ones we really WANT you to see!!!!!

We will keep you informed of developments and publish photos as they come to hand! Stay tuned for the next stage of progression!!!!

YES- oh yes, yes, yes- it is FINISHED!!!!

Presenting.......... the HOT TUB & SAUNA CHALET
