Chalet Number Two Update!

Our dream was to open our own chalets that provide our guests with everything you could (and should!) expect- and a little more! We spent a long time searching for the right property and the right location, and found it here in the beautiful Porongurup. We loved the view and the fact that the property borders a CALM Nature Reserve and a winery! We moved down here from Perth in January 2005. Stan and Shelley and their 2 daughters, Skye and Jade, along with Shelley's parents Ann and John have all been working hard to bring our dream to fruition. And, so the story begins......

After we obtained approval from the City of Albany, we were able to start on the really exciting stuff- choosing our builder, plans and colours. What a blast we had at T&R Homes on our Pre Start Day. They made a mean hot chocolate too! The only disappointing thing was learning we would have to wait and extra 2 months for our buildings to be completed- thanks to the Christmas break!
Construction on our property began on the 4th January. It was very exciting to see our vision becoming a reality. It really looked like what we thought it would! The roads are going in, the Chalet pads are complete, and the rainwater tanks are in place. We even added a bush walk track through the back seven acres for you to enjoy!

Here are some pictures of our newly constructed Bush Walk. The 1.4km trail meanders through the back seven acres of our property. We are really pleased with the results and are sure you will love it!

The chalet now has walls. Can't wait to see it painted and the corrugate feature on!
Update April 26- we have just returned from Perth and have seen the Chalet "in the flesh" for the first time. We are wrapped with the result so far- it's nearly time it to come down and see it's new home! All that's missing is the decked verandah which will be installed down here.

The spa room is looking fabulous, can't wait to see it tiled! The spa window is perfectly positioned for a super mountain view while relaxing!

THE PLAYGROUND is now complete. Dad and Stan are talking to me again after having to put it all together! All I had to do was buy it! But they got me back when I realised how long it was going to take me to paint it! Our girls and their friends have done the market research- so we think we're onto a winner! The swing will go up shortly.

The verandah and deck will go on this week, along with the carport. We are about to put down the floor planks and carpets and then we can fill it up with all the goodies we have bought.
The plumbing and electicity is the next major mission, with about a kilometre of trenches to be dug!AAHH!

We are wrapped that there will be somewhere to stay that has all the bells and whistles- no more disappointment when you go away! We think we have it covered. (that's what this was all about!!!!!!) You will have to come and see for yourself!
